6 Days Kidepo Valley & Murchison Falls Safari

After breakfast, your Escosphere Safaris driver-guide will pick you up for the scenic drive north toward Gulu, Uganda’s largest city in the north. Along the way, enjoy views of the beautiful countryside, local markets, and homesteads.

Stop for lunch in Luwero or Gulu town and continue the drive, arriving in the evening. Check into your hotel and relax as you prepare for your next day’s adventure to Kidepo Valley National Park.

Kidepo Valley National Park

After breakfast, continue your journey further north to the wild plains of Kidepo Valley National Park, located near Uganda’s borders with South Sudan and Kenya.

Arrive in the park by midday and check in at your lodge overlooking the savannah. In the afternoon, go for a short game drive where you may spot elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and the beautiful Kidepo scenery with the Morungole Mountains in the background.

Wake up to the sounds of the wild and enjoy breakfast before setting off for a morning game drive through the Narus Valley — the heart of Kidepo’s wildlife viewing. This area is known for lions lounging on rocks, cheetahs roaming the plains, and large herds of buffaloes and antelopes.

Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation, then later in the afternoon visit the Karamojong community. Learn about their unique culture, traditional dances, and lifestyle that revolves around cattle keeping.

Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, begin your long but scenic drive to Murchison Falls National Park — Uganda’s largest and oldest park. The journey passes through rolling landscapes, farmlands, and small towns.

Arrive in the evening and check in at your lodge near the Nile River. Enjoy dinner and relax as you listen to the sounds of nature.

Start the day early with a morning game drive on the northern bank of the park. Expect to see elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, and leopards among others. Return for lunch, then take an afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the spectacular Murchison Falls — where the Nile squeezes through a 7-meter gorge and plunges 43 meters below.

You can optionally take a guided hike to the top of the falls for a breathtaking view.

After breakfast, check out and drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you’ll enjoy an exciting rhino tracking experience on foot with a ranger. Learn about rhino conservation and take close-up photos of these majestic creatures.
