3 Days Murchison Falls Safari

Your safari adventure begins early in the morning with a warm welcome and briefing from your Ecosphere Safaris driver-guide. After breakfast, you’ll set off from Kampala or Entebbe, driving north through the beautiful Ugandan countryside, which is filled with roadside markets, villages, and lush greenery.

Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

The first stop will be at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you’ll have a chance to trek and observe Uganda’s only white rhinos in their natural habitat. This gives you a full “Big Five” experience when combined with lions, elephants, buffaloes, and leopards in Murchison Falls.

After lunch at the sanctuary or en route, continue to Murchison Falls National Park, entering through the southern gates. As you drive to your lodge, you may spot some early wildlife such as baboons, warthogs, and Uganda kobs.

Arrive at your lodge in the evening, check in, and enjoy dinner while listening to the distant roars of wildlife around the park.

Wake up early to the sounds of nature and enjoy a hearty breakfast before embarking on an exciting morning game drive across the northern savannah plains. Your Escosphere Safaris guide will take you through the best game-viewing areas to spot elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and possibly leopards. The sunrise across the savannah creates a perfect photo opportunity.

Para Landing Site

Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, head to Para Landing Site for a boat cruise along the Nile River. The cruise will take you upstream to the base of the magnificent Murchison Falls, where the Nile squeezes through a 7-meter gorge before plunging 43 meters below — creating a thunderous roar and misty spray. Along the way, you’ll see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and a wide variety of bird species such as the African fish eagle and kingfishers.

Optional: For adventure lovers, you can take a guided hike to the top of Murchison Falls, where you’ll witness the power and beauty of the falls up close.

Return to your lodge for dinner and an evening at leisure.

After breakfast, you’ll check out and enjoy a short game drive as you exit the park, giving you a final chance to see some wildlife you may have missed earlier. Continue your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, with a lunch stop in Masindi Town.

Arrive in the late afternoon, marking the end of your memorable Murchison Falls Safari with Escosphere Safaris. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel or airport depending on your onward travel plans.
